Why Am I Having Heavy Bleeding , Painful Cramps During My Periods ?

I had unprotected sex 2 weeks before my expected period. My period came a week late accompanied with heavy bleeding , painful cramping, hot and cold flashes, and extreme fatigue. Is this unusual or anything to be concerned about?

Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum. This heavy bleeding can occur if you have taken an emergency contraceptive pill following the unprotected intercourse. Also bleeding can differ in an individual if affected by change in lifestyle, stress, change of place etc. You need to observe if this continues in the next cycle as well,if it does please consult a gynecologist. Take care
