Hi Welcome to Healthcaremagic It appears to me as if you have had a problem called membranous dysmenorrhea (Pain during periods). It may not ever happen again. It does not have long-term effects. Membranous dysmenorrhea is a severe form of spasmodic dysmenorrhea and is associated with the passage of membranous casts in the flow. Its a rare condition sometimes seen in women on oral contraceptives/depot. You should have nutritious diet, regular exercise, correction of constipation if any. Simple analgesics like aspirin or Buscopan, hormonal contraceptives, prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors like mefanamic acid, danazol etc. may help. Take care.
