Whooping cough, sore chest. Will it heal itself? Does my heart have an infection?

I had whooping cough in February, since recovering I thought the soreness in my chest would heal itself. However, when I cough now, my upper chest deep inside hurts. I have heard crazier things, like me getting whooping cough at my age of 57. I was wondering if my heart could now have an infection or am I just crazy?
