Hi, I am 34 years old man, my skin color is whitish & sun light makes it dark. I am using Skinlite cream (LIVA) for last 3 months, my skin has become fair now. If I stop using cream as it is not safe then will my skin color change back to earlier one? Can you suggest me some good cream & sun screen so that my skin keeps remain fair with glow. what cream should I use for my 6 yrs old daughter for her fairness as her color is also whitish? Thanks,
Skinlite cream contains a potent steroid, Mometasone and it should not be used as a fairness cream.
Potents steroids if used indiscriminately over face can lead to side effects like Acne, Photosensitivity, Skin thinning and Atrophy/Telangiectasia and Facial hair growth, which is specially troublesome in females. It interferes with melanin synthesis, therefore one might notice whitening of the skin at the site of application.
I would suggest that you use a broad spectrum sunscreen, which offers both UVB and UVA protection, throughout the day. You may use a cream containing one or more of the skin lightening agents like kojic acid, hydroquinone, glycolic acid etc, once daily at night. They are relatively safer for long term use unlike steroids.
take care regards
