i have a white substance stuck to the back of my throat. i am not sure what it is. it is not a ball like many people describe on the internet. its just a substance(for lack of a better word) stuck to the back of my throat. it feels like something is stuck right at the bridge between my mouth and throat and it is very annoying. what is it and what should i do?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. This substance , as you described in your query may be . Sticky whitish substance is a mucus . This is caused by infection in the lungs and this infection infects throat and patient develops mucus or expectoration . Also known as POST NASAL DISCHARGE. In the beginning patient develops allergy and infection is added. Allergy and infection together develops mucus which is usually sticky in nature and it got stuck in the back of throat . In my opinion first of all consult an E N T and get his opinion . Antibiotics with bronchodilators will cure you. Good luck. Dr. HET
