Which Among Dicynone And Tranexamic Acid Is Safe During Pregnancy?

what is safest during pregnancy dicynone or tranexamic acid? I am 28 weeks pregnant - according to last ultrasound though the baby s development 7.1 centimeters corresponds to 13 weeks and 5 days (this is what I was told). 10 days ago after intercourse with my husband I was bleeding for 1 day, saw the doctor, all was ok. I was told placenta is too low and I was given tranexamic acid 2 pills X 3 times/day for 5 days. Bleeding stopped by itself so I did not take the pills. The last 4 days I am spotting pink-brownish with small clots. Doctor told me to take the pills but I am worried for baby s safety as they were tested only on animal fetuses. When sharing my concern I was given dicynone but this one is forbidden during first trimester. I do not know what to do, in the same time the spotting continues but only when going to the toilet. Both medicines are mainly to stop heavy bleeding, which is not my case. Also the past 4 days, except mild pains like the ones during menstruation, there is a very uncomfortable pain on the left ovary area, as if there is an air balloon stuck in there. I feel it even during sleeping when turning. Please let me know what is best to do? Shall I take any of those pills? Is there anything better? what shall I do? Thank you in advance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
As a common rule, medicines are not advised in pregnancy, unless absolutely essential to protect the mother.you have reported 28 weeks pregnancy while the ultrasound shows 13 weeks, which is a concern. Is the baby live?? Are you feeling the baby movements??The baby has not grown this can happen if you have high blood pressure, anemia, other medical diseases. I feel that u need to confirm the Ultrasound report, is the foetus is alive? You are probably aborting the foetus, thus the brown spotting continues and the pain has started. Transxenamic acid, does reach the baby, however, side effects are not reported. The best thing to do is first establish the viability of the baby and then take it forward. Meanwhile take complete bed rest.
