Welcome to HCM.

In case of Jaundice the most important thing to do is to first identify the cause for jaundice. Depending on the cause, jaundice is managed accordingly. If jaundice is due to Gall stones obstructing the the bile duct, surgery may be required to remove the stones. In all cases of obstructive jaundice, cause of obstruction has to be detected and treated.

In case of infective or cirrhotic jaundice, Fat restricted diet is advisable, including restriction of milk and milk products.
Alcoholic drinks are absolutely contraindicated.

Hi ankur,
It depends on the cause of jaundice if it is due to liver disease you require to reduce fat containing diet, you can take green leaf vegetable, you can take all other foods except fat, take food in regular frequent small foods.

during jaundice proper hygiene should be maintained,,dont drink raw water it should be boiled or filtered.fat free milk,sugarcane juice,mausmi ,moong dal,,lassi,banana,raisins,apple lemon,rice,reddish,amla,parmal,.dont have food which is heavy to digest.

During jaundice the most affected organ is liver so we should avoid any type of food which put strain on the working of the liver which may include any toxic drugs, alcohol and in food you may avoid any fatty and fried foods as samosa, kachori, potato chips fried, the more spicy foods, the ghee.
