When Suffering From Diabetes And Hypertension, Can Repeated Numbness Indicate Stroke?

Hello. I have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. I've been negligent in taking the blood pressure/cholesterol
pills I've been prescribed. A couple weeks ago my left foot went numb, then last week fingers on my left hand went numb. A couple of days later the left side of my tongue went numb and today it was my left index finger, which went almost completely dead numb. The doctor who prescribed the blood pressure and cholesterol pills said I was at risk for a stroke as well. I finally refilled my prescriptions today and will be sure to take them as directed, but should I be concerned about the spells of numbness?
