When Should Pregnancy Test Be Taken?

Just wondering if I may be pregnant. I have been trying for 5 years, my periods are irregular (av 29 days over last 6 months) but have light cramping, period is due (using average, 4 days over) and have sore breasts. I have not taken a test, when would the recommended time be to test for pregnancy?

hi,sore breasts and light cramping can be due to premenstrual syndrome or pregnancy as it is caused by the hormone progestrone which causes water retention.since you have regular cycles and trying for pregnancy and you are over by 4 days its the right time to take a pregnancy test.in case you are pregnant it will come positive by now.all the best take care.
