Hallow Dear,

From your history, it seems your wife has not taken the Misoprostol pills on the doctor's advice. She seems to have taken these pills of her own.

In fact the Misoprostol alone regime recommended by WHO suggests Tab. Misoprostol to be taken every 3-12 hours up to 3 doses for termination of pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation. She has not consumed the tablets as per the prescribed dosages and schedule.

Moreover, these medicines, Mifepristone and Misoprostol are prescription medicines and should be taken by Gynaecologist's advise only.

Now that she has taken 3 tablets of Misoprostol, please wait for 3 days; if she aborts well and good; otherwise consider this as a failure of the pills she has taken. Then you have following options open for her:

1. Take Tab. Mifepristone followed after 24-48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol and repeated afterwards as per the requirement. Please take these tablets only by Gynaecologist's advice.

2. Take Tab. Misoprostol every 3-12 hours up to 3 doses.

3. Opt for surgical evacuation of uterus by MVA aspiration.

Please be aware that these medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence, if the medicines you have already taken fail to abort her, please do not continue this pregnancy; opt for one of the above mentioned options.

It is advisable to confirm the completeness of the Medical termination of pregnancy by ultrasonography.

I hope this sends a scientific appropriate message to you.
