When Should TT Vaccine Be Taken During Pregnancy?

Hello,
My wife is pregnant. It's almost 4 months 1 week now going. The problem is she was taken TT vaccine only 3 in before. She was not fully completed the TT vaccine course. It was almost 10-12 years ago from now. So now my question is when to take TT vaccine injection during pregnancy now? Which time is suitable for it?
Thanks In Advance!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Mr.Bablu,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccine is given during the pregnancy to prevent the risk of tetanus to the mother as well as unborn baby.
In the first pregnancy, it is recommend that at least two doses of TT vaccine must be taken. Most doctors administer the first dose in the third trimester, usually in the seventh month of pregnancy.
The second dose is given at least four weeks after the first.
World Health Organization (WHO) also recommends that a third vaccine be given six months after the second dose to provide protection for at least five years.
Kindly consult your treating doctor for the same and take the injections compulsorily as has been recommended.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
