When Is Conception Possible After Stopping Femilon?

I have ovary cysts (right 22×29mm & left cystic lesions). I used femilon for 2 years. I stopped 6 months ago and am trying to conceive. But still my periods are irregular (31,28,31,32,34,37 days) for last few months after stopping femilon. Chances of mine getting pregnant? After how long egg starting to release after stopping femilon?

Hello,
Thank you for your query.

It usually takes about 3-6 months for the body to get back to normal after stopping hormonal contraceptives.

I recommend :
-use basal body temperature monitoring and ovulation prediction kits for 2 months to find out if and when you ovulate.
-if there is no evidence of ovulation or if you are uncertain, see you obgyn to assess you and do a follicular study to check for follicular growth and ovulation.

If there is evidence of ovulation, you just need to time Intercourse during your most fertile time of the cycle (within the missile third of your cycle - day 10-20 for a 30 day cycle)
Have intercourse every alternate day if possible.
- if there is no evidence of ovulation, you will need to be evaluated for hormone imbalances (thyroid, reproductive hormones).
Sometimes medication can be given to Jumpstart the ovulation.

If your are above 30 seek the help of a fertility specialist right away.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health and hope you conceive soon
