General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

All your symptoms are related to cold that is caused by a seasonal virus.
This virus is aggravated by alcohol and sweating.
Pain that you are experiencing on your rib cage are muscular pains.

To relieve pain you should take painkillers like Acetominophen(Paracetamol) 500mg.
Drink a lot of fluids like hot tea.
You should also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, because in this way you will avoid vitamin therapy.

If these symptoms last for more than 1 week you need a chest X-ray and a complete blood count to check virus complications.
You should also consult your doctor for a physical examination.

I hope this answer is helpful.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.
