What Treatment Is Suggested For Severe Cough?

Hello Doctor, My child is 4 years 2 month old, had developed severe cough before 4-5 month back, doctor advised her AB Phylline, Seroflow 50 (morning and night), Livoline (SOS) inhaler and Monteck LC kid for 3months, later he stopped by giving only Monteck LC kid for another one month. Later he stopped that also and generally advised some medicine if she get. From last 15 days she had light cough, we gave Piriton syrup, but its on no use, we have ABphylline syrup but still she is getting cough.
Now, another doctor advised to her Budecort 200 and Asthalin inhaler. but still she use to cough all the time (more in evening hours & early morning)
Is it advisable to give antibiotic (Azithromycin 200) to her along with this medicines and also suggest me, what I should do? we examines IgE and complete Hemogram also. In that every thing is normal...

Hai... By what you say... I suggest that your kid is having multi triggered wheeze..
Questions...
1. Does the cough increase during seasonal variations
2. Any family history of atopy or wheezing or asthma
3. Any eczema or skin allergies
Your child might require a step up therapy. Chronic cough....without fever...no possibility of TB....though you didnt mention weight loss or anorexia. Absolutely no need for azithromycin which is an antibiotic. Happy to help anytime. If you are happy with my reply, kindly rate it.
I find this answer helpful
