What Treatment Is Suggested For Melanosis?

I am having very bad gas pains under ribs.. recently had colonscopie and diganosed with melanosis.... has been going on since before the procedure.. thought it would go away and has not.. called my doctor , but has not returned my call can get in until middle january .. any suggestions?

Melanosis coli is seen typically with frequent use of laxatives, it does not mention this in your question, but if you are frequent user attempt to find a bowel regiment to work for you without laxative use. Stool softener, increase fiber, miralax, Colace.
Specifically for cramping and gas pains, you can attempt a medication called bentyl for gas, or simethicone/gasX for gas relief. hope this helps.
