What Treatment Is Suggested For Eczema Noticed On Limbs?

I have a skin problem for long. It started with itching in the lower limbs, later it spreads to upper limbs and also at the back. The itches became black swollen spots now-a-days. Doctors precribed Cosvate-G and told it is one type of eczema. It was in control for a time period. Now it has spreaded. Doctor prescribed Momate XL. Do I get relief in this treatment?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of Lichen planus. The lesions are purple, pruritic, planar, polygonal, papules on the lower limbs commonly.

Treatment is with oral and topical steroids and oral antihistamines. The lesions can have a flare if treatment is discontinue suddenly. Therefore it is important to gradually taper the steroids , whether oral or topical in order to prevent a relapse.

You have been on the right kind of medication for it. I would advice that you continue with momate (mometasone) for 4-6 weeks and then try to taper it before stopping it.

The prognosis is usually good and cure is the ultimate end result.

regards
