Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son has Crohn s disease which was diagnosed a year after his diagnosis of Celiac disease. He had no symptoms of Crohn s but due to his regular lab work for Celiac he was diagnosed in the early stages. He has recently had episodes in 2 week intervals of severe pain followed by vomiting which resolves within 24 hours. He then has a normal appetite and resumes eating. He is gaining weight and height at a normal pace. The inflammatory markers in his recent labs do not show any elevation, however the Gastroenterologist said it could be a partial blockage. If it is a partial blockage why does it resolve and then come back and will it get worse over time?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if it is the block or obstruction then it get resolved on its own in very rare case it needs surgery over all it is all depends upon the nature of obstruction, and the clinical symptoms, if the obstruction not being diagnosed properly or treated accordingly then it may comes back, if this is being given good treatment or cured completely then no need to worry about this, hope this information.
