What Treatment Is Recommended For Stomach Ulcers?

I had colonoscopy which uncovered an ulcer a sample of which was sent for biopsy. Since I ve been taking a baby aspirin daily as a preventive measure, my doctor said that it may be what caused the ulcer. My question is what cures are there for such ulcers?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having stomach ulcers which could be due to caused due to H. pylori bacterial infection and overuse of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. In your case it is due to overuse of baby aspirin. Need not to worry. You should start with a course of proton pump inhibitor and you should take alternative painkiller. You should take small and frequent meals and avoid large dose of medications. Antacids and alginates would work for you by neutralizing the acid. Avoid oily and spicy food. Drink plenty of water and liquids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
