Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had torn meniscus(2007) and Orthvisic shot in right knee in July 2012. I know there is minimal cartiledge left but usually it doesn't bother me. Yesterday I jumped off a boat into 4 feet of water landing only on that leg. My other had TKR in Oct 2012 and I'm protective of that. Immediately had intense pain but was able to walk and swim a little. After sitting an hour to get home it was stiff and very sore. Hurt when I turned over during the night. Hurts today but moving helps. Give it time and Aleve? I'm out of the country for a few more days.
As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG andTENS.
If pain not relieved then arthroscopic meniscus repair needs to be done.
