I have severe pain in my hands and all my joints, I had an MRI done just 4 days ago and my doctor prescribed 2 kinds of pain killer, which are Biodol and Lyrica 50mg twicce and 3 times a day, but I am having no relief. in fact I feel I am getting worse! All my joints are exremely stiff and very painful I can hardly do anything e.g. writing my name is very painful or trying to dress myself. Wha can I do to relieve pain so I can get some sleep?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.
Polyarthralgia of this sort is a matter of concern

Fistly we hav to arrive at a diagnosis.
For this kindly get a complete Arthritis Panel blood test done eith specific emphasis on rheumatoid factor and osteoarthritis.

As these medicines are not doing you any good I would advise you to switch to tablets nucoxia and pregalin .
Short term steroid like predmet under strict supervision of an orthopedician will work wonders....but don't make it a habbit.

Specific treatment would depend on the test report

I hope my advice has helped
Good luck

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Pain in multiple joints is termed as Polyarthralgia. There are many conditions and causes for this sort of a clinical presentation. A detailed clinical examination and appropriate hematological investigations are needed to establish a correct diagnosis of your problem.

Simple use of analgesics will only supress the pain but may not actually treat the root cause.

So, I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further workup and management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
