What To Do In Case Of Slow Bowel Movement In A Diabetic?

Iam 52 years, 165 cm,and wight is 68 kg I was undergone surgery for removal of gall bladder and uterus,overy. Past ten years after the surgery i am having the problem of inevacuate the motion completely and slow movement of bowl system.Iam taking fruits and vegetables and fibre content of foods and plenty of water regularly. I am having BP and diabetis complaint taking medicines regularly. kindly suggest for your opinion for my stomach problem. Doctor advise to go for onetime sigmoidoscopy.

Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Diabetes is a major and most probable cause of a condition called gastroparesis. In this condition the overall motility of the stomach and intestines slows down.
I would advise you the following:
Get the blood sugar, HbA1c and other parameters of diabetes, kidney, liver and thyroid functions to get any other associated problems as you also have hypertension.
Consult you Gastroenterologist to have a proper clinical evaluation, examination and tests of barium meal follow-through under direct vision of a fluoroscopy to know the motility pattern; colonoscopy and any other tests and have a proper planned management.
You will also get a valid prescription for the medications that will help you better than before as per the findings.
