I have noted your father's symptoms. The sudden loss of voice is a sign of new
stroke. This occurs because of lack of blood flow to the left side of brain.
He should be immediately taken to emergency room and a
neurologist should be consulted. If thrombolytic (clot buster) therapy with actilyse can be given to him, he can recover his speech.
After this, he should be taken through an alcohol de-addiction and
smoking cessation program.
Aspirin and statins should also be continued to prevent more strokes in future.
