What To Do For The Stiches Not Being Dissolved After A Surgery?

Weird issue: I had surgery 6wks ago and knots from stitches were suppose to disolve & fall off. However, mine did not. They are in my skin and becoming red & inflammed. Dr told me to get a really good bacitracin ointment with Zinc. to try before redoing stitches. What is the best but cheapest??

sometimes dissolvable sutures do not well...dissolve (for quite some time). If the skin is getting red and inflammed, you may be developing a cellulitis that may require oral antibiotics. Depending on the type of surgery you had, there is also a risk for an infection to track into the surgical site causing serious problems. I would follow up with your surgeon as soon as possible, or go to the ER if symptoms worsen.
