Hi, I m 26 years old and one year ago my doctor found me many cysts in my ovaries, like 15 and 13 in each one. He said it d be fine if I start my treatment in one year after I go back to my country but now I m staying for longer in the states and I m worried it could get worse. He also mentioned that the cyst could be a problem to get pregnant, I m not planning to but of course I don t want to have problems in the future. I ve been having pain in my pelvic lately and it also kind of hurts when I urinate.
If you have been diagnosed with ovarian cysts, then, multiple approaches are needed for proper treatment depending on the quantity and size of cysts: - if infection is present, then, antibiotics are used. You should do urine analysis and vaginal swab testing to see if infection is present. - abdominal ultrasound is needed to evaluate the status of the cysts (quantity and size) - hormonal therapy - Metformin is often used to treat polycystic ovaries syndrome. You can discuss with your doctor about this option.
Usually, women with cysts in ovaries are having problems with menstrual cycle. Such problems make it difficult for the ovary to get fertilized and get pregnant.
At the end, I highly recommend to see a doctor at the place you are living now, and to run urine analysis, vaginal swab testing and abdominal ultrasound to start taking respective treatment.
