What To Do For Swollen Optical Nerve And Sinus Infection?

my daughter who is 18 has optical neuritis, she had this in her left eye 6 yrs ago and went totally blind in that eye, she now has it in her right eye, and the vision is gone again. The MRI showed the optical nerve swollen and also a sinus infection?

Hello
It seems from the history that your daughter is having optic neuritis and sinus infection. This is called as paraibfectious neuritis and treatment is by antibiotics to treat sinus infection and steroids to treat optic neuritis.

She also requires evaluation by neurologist and investigations like MRI scan to look for the risk of development of multiple sclerosis.
