What To Do After The Removal Of Plantar Wart From The Bottom Of A Big Toe?

I just removed a (pretty big) plantar wart from the bottom of my 12 year old son s big toe. I had used compound W for a few weeks and it finally turned brown/black so I scraped it out. It didn t hurt when I was doing it but now he has a crater like hole - I cleaned it with soap and water and then dried it thoroughly. I put a bandaid and then a sock on. Did I do the right thing? What do I need to do in the upcoming days? I think it s too large and deep to put any kind of ointment on it Thanks ~kolleen

Hi,

Crater like hole after removal of tough keratotic lesion suggests the diagnosis of corn. It may not be wart. Still, you consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. Surgical excision or application of salicylic acid 12% solution may cure the lesion.
Wear cushioned insole to pad the feet and avoid mechanical pressure to prevent further development of corn. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
