What The Cause And Cure For Sudden Air Bubble In Between The Ribs?

For almsot 4 years now when I bend wrong, sneeze to hard, and sometimes just because... I get a bulge that comes out between 2 ribs, it feels like the wind is getting knocked out of me and when I put a little pressure on it, it goes away and then my ribs are sore for a few hours to a day. I call it my air bubble because it looks like a bubble of air sitting on my rib cage... It happens only every once in awhile, maybe a few times a year... I asked my family dr. and she looked at me like I was crazy but sent me to a specialist... Who did an ultrasound and saw nothing, told me next time it happens to come back (his offices is an hour away) The next time it happend I was washing my hair in the shower and it popped out and I was able to get a picture with my phone... I called the specialist for an appointment and brought the picture. he again said he couldnt do anything unless it was popped out but he said "it may be a hernia, dont worry about it, its not life threatening but theres not much I can do)... I have never had injury to the area, I had 1 csection 2 years prior to the "air bubble" and I have had another one (3 months ago) My reason for concern again is because in the last 3 months since my csection I have had the "air bubble" 5 times which is the most its ever happend in such a short time! Any idea what could be causing this and who I would go see??? Since my family dr and the thoracic surgeon did nothing for me?? Thanks!

The site you have mentioned can not have a hernia or air buble. With injury it can have pnemo thorax, which is very serious and painful. In this case ultra sound is not advisable. You can have x-ray, PA veiw chest or MRI chest. Proper diagnosis can now be made. With the result you can consult your family physician.
