What Should I Do To Encourage Healthy Eating Habits In My Child?

Hi,

My older son (who is almost 7 years old) is a very fussy and picky eater. He is very thin for his age (20 kgs) and though he is very active (swims, plays etc) he does not want to eat more than 1 chapati at a mealtime. Does not like fruits or veggies. What should I do?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. Children at the age of 7 are more interested in playing than eating. You can give him the food which he likes most and introduce some nutritious change which he shall not pick up. You can add cereal powder to chapathi dough. Make curries with flavor he likes and use vegetables. Vegetables should be cut cleverly to conceal its identity.

Just think yourself and you shall find so many other ways to make your child a nutritious eater.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
