Psychiatrist 's  Response
I MUST TELL YOU VERY BASIC FORMULA TO CHECK YOUR WEIGHT AND HEIGHT ONE INCH HEIGHT OF BODY MASS IS MOSTLY EQUIVALENT TO IKG OF WEIGHT.
FOR EXAMPLE YOUR HEIGHT 5.4=64 IN ,SO YOUR HEIGHT SHOULD BE NOT MORE THAN 64 KG,HOWEVER BODY MASS INDEX MORE CONFORMATORY.

THIS MEANS YOU ARE OVERWIEGHT.
BASIC PRINCIPLE OF DIET MANANAGEMENT IS REDUCTION OF FATTY AND CORBOHYDRATE SOUCE AND AUGEMINTING IT BY CALORIEFREE SUBSTNCES LIKE FIBERS.
SALADS CAUSES APPETITE SATISFACTION WITHOUT ADDING MORE CALORIES.
HOWEVER BALANCED DIET MUST NOT BE SACRIFIED .MACRO AND MICRO NUTRIENTS FOR GOOD HEALTH COMES FROM BALANCED DIET.

SO,THE TECHNIQUE MUST BE:
KEEPING THE FOOD QUANTITY SAME THE QUALITY SHOULD BE IMPROVED BY ADDING AS MANY DIFFERENT HEALTHY INGREGIENTS AS POSSIBLE

EXAMPLE:4 CHAPTI AND A CUP OF VEGETABLES CAN BE REPLACED BY 2 ROTI=1/2 CUP GREEN VEG,1/2 CUP PULSES,1/2 CUP CURD AND FULL PLATE OF SALADS.

DIETING HAS NOT SHOWN GOOD RESULTS IN WEIGHT MANAGEMENT,
INCREASED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY(NOT BODY BUILDING) HAS KEY ROLE IN HEALTHY WEIGHT MANAGEMENT.

Hi Sandhya
There is basic funda have less calories and burn more calories through exercise. The fatty deposits need mobilisation and here some herbs do it nicely. There is a drug medhohar guggul which will perform this mobilisation nicely. There are vegetables like brocolli which consume more calories for digestion and release less calories, such vegetables can be added.
