What Should Be The BP Level For A 13 Year Old ?

Is a blood pressure of 108 over 62 too low for a 13 year old ? That is my blood pressure. I quite often get what I can only call migraines where my vision goes blurry and completely unfocused for normally 1/2 an hour if I take paracetemol straight away although I sometimes just have to go to bed because it is so bad. Also somtimes when I standup I black out for a couple of seconds. I wondered if the symptoms are related to my blood pressure. All answers are welcome as this is getting quite annoying. Thanks for reading.

That's a perfectly normal and healthy variant. Optimal BP is <120/80. BP below this is completely normal too and you are at a significantly lower stroke risk. Like the first poster, many people make the mistake of thinking BP below 120 is 'too low'. It isn't. I'm really not sure some people understand what blood pressure actually is and what it means! Lower than average BP only becomes a problem when its so low that its unable to push blood around the body. BP would have to be a lot lower than 108/62 for it to cause a problem. Hypotension isn't even defined until BP is <90/60 Edit I didn't see the bit about you feeling dizzy upon standing. This could be postural hypotension. Make sure you stand slowly and keep hydrated. See your GP and he will run various tests, diabetes and addisions disease can cause this. Your GP will want to rule these things out.
