What Should Be Done To Treat Tinnitus?

My husband has tinnitus and has tried one type of hearing aid w/o relief of tinnitus symptoms. Someone mentioned he may have crystals in his ears. He did go to an ENT and was told he has high frequency hearing loss with tinnitus and that there was not much to do for that other than to treat the anxiety that is associated with the noise and alternative therapy.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
Look mam ! the tinnitus has got the several reasons but here in your husband's case from this forum I would suggest to treat it with the more common cause of allergic cold (Rhinitis ) Eustachian tube block this could be the likely causes, try long acting second generation antihistamine "Levocetrizine" 10 mg three times in day and "Diphenhydramine" three time in day, this will give good result if fails to response then steroid can be given (If no diabetes ) "prednisolone " 20 mg three times in day in tapering dose have word with doctor for this , take care have nice day.
