Hi Reshma,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Here are some safety precautions which you should take after undergoing
embryo transfer.
1. Avoid vigorous activities, lifting heavy weights, heavy workout and exercises which involves forceful bodily movement like aerobics
2. Keep away from smoking
3. Try to avoid the caffeine as much as possible
4. Avoid indulging yourself in a sexual intercourse
5. Avoid consuming alcohol or alcoholic products and drinks
6. Do not take sunbaths and avoid swimming
7. Stay away from tough household work
8. Avoid consuming drugs
9. Eat healthy food and keep yourself well hydrated
10. Try to sleep as much as possible in supine position on your back
Along with the above mentioned safety measures, you should strictly follow your doctor's suggestions. Your doctor may also advice to take
bed rest for few days as a part of your safety measures. 2 weeks after the embryo transfer, the outcome of the procedure would be known by measurement of
hCG levels in blood and
ultrasound scan of pelvis. Following this, your doctor would advise what needs to be done further. You need to take only those medicines as prescribed by your doctor, if any.
Along with following all the safety precautions you also need to leave all your worries behind. Have a positive attitude and encourage yourself to think positively about the
pregnancy issues.
Remove all the negative thoughts form your mind and relax. Try to be happy and cheerful to get ready for experiencing joys of pregnancy!
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
