What Oral Contraceptives To Take For Ovarian Cyst?

Hello, I am 33, 105 lbs, 5 5 tall, just diagnosed with ovarian cyst 3cm, and not pregnant . My last period was extremely little flow, almost nothing, around June 20. The period before that was May 10-15, extremely heavy flow. My first period came when I was 18 years old after I took prescribed contraceptives to induce the period. I had irregular periods all my life, skipping almost three months when in school, stressed out, but never had pain because of it until now. Lately, in the last year or two, except the last two months, my periods have been somewhat regular and normal. I am sexually active currently, in a relationship. I just came back from the doctor , had an exam, and was told to wait and see regarding the cyst, go back for pelvic scan in 6 weeks. Meanwhile, since Monday last week I have been in excrutiating pain at times, no so bad in the last couple of days. The doctor gave me two options: surgery or wait and see and take painkillers . She left before I could ask her if contraceptives (such as Mercilon which I took before, years ago, and which worked for me) are another better option that would regulate my period and put me out of pain faster than wating and see, or a risky cyst removal surgery. I would very much like to know if taking contraceptives would help my cyst. I believe, from reading and researching the subject , that the blood + egg that were not out of my body last month are now stuck in the cyst and that is why is so painful. I am craving to have a period and release it but my period is not coming and i am so uncomfortable and irrascible. I just want to take something very soon that would help. Painkillers do not help, only for two or three hours. And I have to go to work, need to concentrate, painkillers make me mellow. Can I take Mercilon and is it OK to start asap, regardless of my period? Thank you very much for your advice.

Hello , From your history I guess you are having endometriosis for which you can take Danazol 50 mgms daily for 3 months.Simultaneously take some antibiotic like doxycycline 100 mgm twice daily for 7 days along with chymoral plus or serratiopeptidase thrice daily on empty stomach for 7 days.Taking contraceptive pills is not harmful.
Regarding surgery you can go for diagnostic laparoscopy and removal of cyst if symptoms persist. It is a simple surgery , do not be anxious.
Take care
Regards
