What Medicines Should Be Taken If HbA1c Result Is Above Normal Range?

I am diabetic. Height 5 feet 6 inches and weight 104 kg.Been a diabetic for more than 16 years. Now I am taking Diamicron MR 30 mg 2-0-0, Acarbose 50mg 1-1-1, Metformin 850mg 1-1-1, Losarton 50 mg 1-0-1, Amlodopine 10 mg 1-0-0, Ecosprin 75 mg 0-1-0 and Simvastatin 20 mg 0-0-1.



I did HBA1C test today and the result is 7.9. Should i change my medication?

i can understand your concern
in my opinion you are on very good combination of medication.
as per your Hba1c% you are having fair control of diabetes
the difficult part in your diabetes management is your body weight.
your BMi is around 35 which is not a favorable condition.

in my opinion i suggest you to consider doing daily exercise
Discuss with your doctor reading a new medication called Victoza which helps in reducing weight and also help in diabetes.
