What Medicine Is Suggested For Unprotected Sex To Avoid Pregnancy ?

Hi,
I have had unprotected sex and was wondering if I could use Falmina as an emergency contraceptive. I took 3 pills immediately after intercourse ( I'm sure that is wrong, but I have no idea). Basically what is the proper dosage of Falmina if I am trying to use it as an emergency contraceptive? (how many and when should I take it???)

Thanks for query on HCM.
Emergency contraception is effective only in the first few days following intercourse
It should be taken within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.
Falmina is combined pill and can work as a emergency pill but you have to repeat it after 12 hours to prevent pregnancy.
Now wait and watch for next cycle or withdrawal bleeding.
Otherwise consult gynecologist for further guidance.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Falmina contains a combination of levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol.

As emergency contraception, 4 tablets would have to be taken at the same time, within 120 hours of intercourse and 4 tablets , 12 hours later.

Emergency contraception effectiveness varies, up to 90 % in some cases.Since you only used 3 tablets initially the effectiveness would be lower.

There are emergency contraceptives which contain only levonorgestrel but the amount per tablet is different compared to falmina.

I hope this helps
