Urologist 's  Response
Hi, it is good to know you are recovering well. Usually bladder and bowel control are the last to return during recovery. Maximum recovery occurs during first year.
You may require some tests and a sonography to check if you are emptying your bladder fully or if there is any residual urine. Then your doctor will check if your sphincters are ok. Based on your history, examination and tests, he will advise dietary and behavior modifications and some medications. You may also need a urodynamic study (a computer based test to check your bladder and bowel pressures and urine flow speed). Usually if hand and leg functions return, there are good chances of your bladder coming back to normal. Good luck.
