What Means The Heart Size Is Within Normal Limits?
what means the heart size is within normal limits . There is an atherosclerotic and tortuous aorta . There is a patchy infiltrate in the left upper lobe. some of this may be chronic , but the possibility of a cute infiltrate cannot be excluded. There are no other inflitratyes. The lung fields are clear. There are no pleural effusions.
Dear Sir/Madam
thanks for writing to us.
1. heart size is normal i.e. the internal diameter of heart as judged on xray is normal and there is no heart enlargement.
2. The wall of your main artery or blood vessel (aorta) has atherosclerosis (focal deposition of fat )which has led to tortuosity (irregular impression of wall on xray).
3. There are infiltrates in the left upper lobe i.e. are collections of secretions in airways, usually caused by infections but they may be non-infectious. they may be recent or old.
4. there is no fluid around the lungs.
overall you need to see your physician to know the relevance of the infiltrates in left lung.
sincerely
