What Makes My Heartbeat Irregular?

Hi. I'm not too worried about this. Just curious. When I lie on my right side, my heartbeat becomes very irregular. If I switch to my back or left side - all is ok. I am 38. 5' 10" female. 135 lbs. Very fit. Skate ski in the winter, and mountain bike ride and race in the summer. No allergies, no disease, rarely even get a cold!

Dear Madam
Thanks for your query
It is very unlikely that the rhythm gets irregular in a particular posture. Either it is irregular in other postures too or there is something amiss. Important issue is if what kind of irregularity it develops. If it remains regular but there are occasional early or late beats, or it remains irregular throughout. A beat which is irregular throughout is significant.
Occasional Early or late beats signify premature contractions, which are normal phenomenon in asymptomatic healthy persons.
If doubt persists or there are other symptoms, do see your physician.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
