What Lab Is Generally Elevated In Chronic Bronchitis?

hi I am a nursing student and would like to confirm an answer to a question. 70. What lab is generally elevated in chronic bronchitis? now as the instructor did not specific I am not sure if they mean a general CBC or an ABG. but I believe that with a CBC one would see an elevated WBC and with an ABG I would look for an elevated HCO3. have I missed anything?

Hi
Thanks for your query
In chronic bronchitis in ABG you will see -
1. elevated PC02
2. Less pH
3. P02 may be diminished
4. if chronic then HCO3 may raise
In CBC WBC count may be elevated if exacerbation is due to bacterial infection, ESR will be high along with high c-reactive prtein (CRP).
Thank you.
