Hi, I have ashma, diabete and tb for several years. Lately, I lost 8 pounds in a year and have diarrhea, swelling ankle and my blood test so that my eosinophil is high (1279 cells/ul). Should I worry about it? what kind of test I should take further to verify my condition? thanks

Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I would like to know more about you like age, duration of each of the diseases and all symptoms in great details.

However, at present, I would like to make suggestions for you from your given history as follows:

1. As your eosinophils are high and also you have asthma, I would suggest you skin prick testing for common allergens. This helps to identify your allergies.

2. For confirmation of asthma, to rule out other lung disorders (as you had Tb also), I would suggest you spirometry with post-bronchodilator reversibility testing which measures your lung capacity as well as type of obstruction in lung airways.

3. Usually diarrhea, weight loss and ankle swelling are not related to asthma. So please consult a physician who will examine you in detail, will review your medical history and medications in great detail and then decide the cause of such symptoms. Such symptoms can also be due to side-effects of some medications, poor nutrition, etc.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish you the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
