What Kind Of Movements Should Be Avoided By Woman Having Hydrocephalus?

Hi, I have a young woman with hydrocephalus in my yoga class. She didn't tell me about her condition, I learned from her friend. Could you, please, tell me what movements she should avoid. I guess she shouldn't do any inverted poses. Thanking you Helen

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

She shouldn't be performing yoga without medical supervision. Counsel her to meet a neurosurgeon before she can indulge into physical activity. The consequences can be grievous. And before that please confirm that it's not a rumour because people with hydrocephalus are generally hospitalised. Do not entertain gossips.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
