Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
It is a Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) test, which is a test of the speed of electrical signals through a nerve. It is done to diagnose nerve damage or destruction. Occasionally, the test may be used to evaluate diseases of nerve or muscle, including myopathies and is recommended by Neurologists. It is covered in insurance if the patient is admitted in the Hospital for a minimum of 24 hours and NCV test has been included in the hospital final bill.

HI Apoorv!
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com.A nerve conduction study (NCS) is a test that measures the speed and strength of electrical activity in a nerve. The test can gather information about the structure and function of both muscle and nerve.
Nerve conduction studies are often done along with :: electromyography (EMG). NCS is most often done to:
* Aid in diagnosing the cause of pain, cramping, numbness, or weakness
* Determine if nerves are working properly
* Distinguish between muscle and nerve disorders
* Monitor if a nerve is recovering from injury. Most big corporate as well as specialised hospitals offfer this study as an outpatient procedure. In India-AIIMS,NIMHANS,VINHANS offer.Insurance -you have to ask individual companies as different companies have different criteria.
