What Is The Treatment To Get Rid Of Bronchitis?

Hi my daughter is 7 months old day7 with bronchiolitis, treated with celestamine 2,5ml twice daily for 3 days. She is still chesty,no fever, nose secretions very pale yellow. At which point do I need to take her back to the paeditrician if I need to. She is alert, eating and drinking well. I hope she won t need an antibiotic and that this virus will work its way out. It s just so long and taxing though.

Your child seems well. Bronchiolitis is usually caused by virus and sometimes aggravated by secondary bacterial infection. Antibiotics are only necessary in bacterial infection. Nebulization with hypertonic saline or bronchodilator can do good for patients. If child gets fever, difficulty in breathing, lethargic then consult the paediatrician. He will prescribe anti-biotic.
