What Is The Treatment Of Edema In The Lower Leg And Ankle?

Hi I have edema in my right lower leg/ankle area. I had severe edema after the birth of my son by c section 14 years ago and the edema has never gone away in that leg. I have had the test where they follow the veins and arteries I think by ultra sound and that came back normal. I do have RA and recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well. Is it normal for edema to not go away once you have it? Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Madam, its not normal for the edema to stay such long, and the cause of edema has to be ascertained, is it only in one limb or other limb also has some, is it more in the morning or more after you work, edema can also occur due to lymph obstruction, where your doppler may be normal, many systemic conditions can also cause edema,
I will advise you to consult your GP first.
