Doctor my 4 month old daughter is suffering from diarrhea from last 20 days..I consult almoat all the doctors in my city..I have given her all the prescription told by the doctors..but she is not showing any relief..am little worried. .is this a symbol of her teething period. .what should I do..is it safe to start gripewater as she hasn t completed her 6 month period..
Hi, Thank you for asking question on health care magic. Diarrhea for 20 days suggests that she is suffering from persistent diarrhea. Avoid lactose containing diet. Give proper diet inspite of darrhea, otherwise she will have malnutrition and failure to thrive. Gripe is not required. You may give colimex-DF drops to relieve colicky pain. It usually takes time to recover. Consult pediatrician and follow his advice. Hope this answer will serve your purpose Please feel free to ask any more queries if required Take care Dr.M.V.Subrahmanyam MD;DCH Associate professor of pediatrics
