What Is The Treatment Of Diabetes ?

Mom: 90 year old female, insulin dependent diabetic, dx pancreatic CA in July 2012, no treatment, comfort measures only Pain med administered by patch, . Doing ok until December and started on fentanyl 25 mcg every 72 hours, increased to 50 January 2, increased to 75, January 28, now also getting morphine 10cc every 4 hours as needed...it has been needed. I live 3000 miles away...how long can this go on? I want to be there for her.

The management of pain in cancer is a difficult and sometimes arduous process. I agree that in her pain that the pain medications should be titrated to control her pain.
