What Is The Treatment For The 80% Blockage In The Mid Lad Having Diagnosed With Pulmonary Fibrosis?

We were just advised my dad has 80% blockage in Mid LAD. A stint will be placed early next week. He also has Pulmonary Fibrosis which is pretty advanced. I have a friend who says usually bypass is required. I m sure he cant tolerate a major surgery like that. Are there certain questions that should be asked and or addressed.

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your father's situation and problem.
In my opinion, he is candidate for stenting and not fof bypass.
Bypass is indicated only in triple vessel disease (all three major coronaries are blocked).
So no scope of bypass surgery in his case.
In single vessel disease (LAD) , stenting gives excellent results.
You should definitely ask for drug eluting stent (DES). It is newer advance in stents. It locally secret anticoagulant, so the stent stenosis and necrosis can be prevented.
