My three year old granddaughter got two bug bites on her forehead last night which became quite swollen but then went down. This morning her parotid gland on her right side is swollen and sore to the touch. What should my daughter do? Now this was probably mosquito bites.
Hi Thanks for contacting healthcare magic. She needs to be evaluated for mumps if that is really a parotid swelling. Mumps is the commonest cause of parotid swelling in this age group. I would advice you to take her to a hospital for detailed examonation & workup.
