my scrotal sac has been itching. it is not red. i have tried cornstarch and all sorts of things. no rawness. i am not sexually active so it is not a transmitted disease. it is worse at night and is driving me crazy . has been going on for about 3 weeks. i am 75 years old.
Hi. Noted that you are a male of 75 years old and has itching of the scrotal skin for 3 weeks without any redness, corn-starch is not helping you. This means you have sub-clinical dermatitis and is mostly related to excessive sweating followed by itching which causes multiple small abrasions which can not be seen as they are so minor; the seating again causes the irritation and itching continues on. I would advise in such a situation the following: Wash the area with plain tap water 4 times a day, make it dry with hair dryer as clothes can not really make it dry. Apply liquid povidone iodine twice daily and take an antihistamine like Benedryl or so to suppress the itching. This should help you. If there is no results with this method, please consult your Doctor or a Dermatologist as this needs to be examined then.
