Dear user
Thankyou for askning inHCM, I read carefully your councer about husband health.

May I ask you did your husband check the Thyroid hormone levels?
Is he smoker? ( Cigarette smokers are at a higher risk for thyroid eye disease, and if they do, can have a more severe and prolonged course of the disease.
What didi he feel?
•     His Eyes are painful?Red and watery- particularly in sunshine or wind?
•     Did your husband have decreased colour vision as well?
•     Did he have done before “exophthalomometer” ?
On of illness that patients have red eyes is Graves Disease
To be sure I must to know blood test for hormone levels as follow:
•     TSH thyroid –stimulating hormone
•     T3(triiodothyronine)
•     T4(thyroxine)hormone levels
•     Its very important TSI –Testing Thyroid –stimulating Immunoglobulin(TSI is a type of antibody (immunoglobulin)
•     Testing Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO) Level
•     Radioactive Iodine Uptake (RAIU) and Scan
I suggest you to consoult with family doctor to see for more cases about RED EYES exept Thyroid Problems , (Graves disease)
Are more pathology like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosis, polyarteritis nodosa, diabetes typ I.
My advise is to counsoult with endocrinology and ophthalmologist .Eye problems should be evaluated and treated by an ophthalmologis
.Hope that I have answered your questation If you have any futher questions I will be happy to help
Kind regards
